A fun-filled experience for the whole family!! My family and I booked an afternoon at the Ramen Factory, and we are extremely happy we did.
he session started with a short video on how ramen is made. That really helped us since we have zero experience other than open a package of instant ramen.
The session was broken down into easy steps with measured ingredients and all the equipment provided. It was well organized. They offered a variety of ingredients so we could make the final touches to our personal tastes. Delicious!!!
The entire crew were so fun, lively, and super helpful! We highly recommend this experience to small and large groups.
Protip: The store was easy to find. Arrive a few minutes before your session!
This cooking class is fun for everyone. I decided last minute (same day) as a solo traveler to attend this class. Ryo was the teacher and did an excellent job. Everyone else that was there to help was amazing too.
I learned how to make ramen from scratch. We rolled up the chicken, made the dough and turned the dough into ramen noodles. After cooking we spiced up and added some veggies to the ramen and of course finished with enjoying our freshly made bowl of ramen.
It was so much fun and Ryo spoke English very well. I loved the personal touch and felt part of the group even attending alone.
At the end of the class we all got a photo and a souvenir. I picked out the apron to take home.
Great value for money and lots of fun to do!!
We are at the end of our 5 day stay in Kyoto and this was definitely the highlight of our trip! Sakura was a fabulous instructor- she was fun, kind, patient, encouraging, and informative. The class itself was very well organized and worth every penny. We learned a lot about the ramen making process and really enjoyed our delicious ramen at the end of the class. We will always have this memory as the best activity that our family experienced in Kyoto. Thank you, Sakura and Ramen Factory!
it was an awesome experience. the instructors are passionate and detailed, and really friendly as well. the process of making the ramen was really fun and engaging, and the options to choose our soup broths was great too, because it’s like we’re given to freedom to choose how we want our ramen to taste. my family really enjoyed ourselves through the process! the ramen was really delicious as well, we all had a hearty lunch with our ramen afterwards! would highly recommend to my friends, and would go again!
We are a family of four. 2 parents, 2 ‘kids’ 21 and 17. Vacationing with our friends. Family of 4, kids 14 and 10. At the end of a busy day of touring in Kyoto we were all a little exhausted and questioning taking a Ramen class. Questions answered. Great decision. They made the process fun and engaging for everyone. Not to mention the ramen came out excellent. Highly recommend for everyone.
Great time!!! We made the ramen noodles from start to finish! Then we flavored our own broth and lastly assembled and ate our yummy creations. They gave clear instructions, took pictures of us while cooking and kept it moving at a good pace. We had a great time as a family with a yummy meal for the win!
The only real cooking we did on our vacation, we had a great time making our own ramen. We had several servings of ramen during our time in Japan, but this was the only spot where we we had chicken, so it was fun to try something different. The staff were very friendly and presented us with a completion certificate/photo. We were each able to choose a free souvenir to take home.
We knew from the start that we wanted to do a cooking class in Japan, and this turned out to be the right one for us. To be honest (and not to detract at all from this experience and the wonderful staff), others who are more experienced cooks or want more in-depth courses might find this kind of basic. Otherwise, definitely join this class.
